What a fun day! 100 Days of School and a cake sale all on the same day! Thank you for making such efforts for dressing up. We had some great acting around the classroom too. And of course, there were those who objected to getting old - "I don't want grey hair!" "I don't want to have wrinkles." But not to worry...some of the teachers objected too and came in as 100 years younger! Have a look at our very old class!
The cake sale was much anticipated. It was a little overwhelming with the sheer volume of cakes! Thank you so much for your generosity and to all the parents who volunteered for the day. We limited cake eating to 1 cake in school and the rest were for home, although there may have been one or two icing "mishaps" - it magically disappeared from the top of some of the buns!
Thank you so much to all of the grandparents who managed to make it into school on Wednesday. The children were delighted and it was lovely to meet you all (or see you for more than 30 seconds at the door.)
There were, of course, lots of children who's grandparents weren't able to make it. But they had lots of fun playing with the other grandparents. And thank you all for including everyone so well. :)
If the children who's grandparents were not able to make it, would like to bring in a photo of their grandparents and share a bit about them with the class, that would be fantastic.
Before the grandparents arrived, we had a think and these are the things our grandparents make us think of!
