Last week, we had a visit from the army. They brought the Irish flag to the school, which will be raised to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising. (There was a bit of disappointment that the army didn't bring tanks but we coped!)
Luke and Chloe came to school showing their Irish spirit.
We made the most of the nice weather and went on a nature walk on Friday. We walked down to the weir and followed the Dodder River up to Super Value and back to school, looking for signs of autumn. The children took nature photos along the way and we are going to be writing about each of our pictures.
We also had our Food Dude pedometers with us and we walked over 3000 steps! Speaking of Food Dudes, it is amazing how well everybody is doing trying the different foods! Quite a few children have discovered they like new foods and many are eating more than a portion size of fruit and veg each day. I hope the diaries are going well at home. We will be bringing them back into school soon.
