You might have heard a bit at home about Ernest Shackleton, last week. The children were really interested in his adventures and learned about his attempt to cross the Antarctic on land. There was a fantastic website that we looked at. Some of the children wanted to have a look at home, so here is the link.

There is also an exhibition in Dun Laoghaire, based on his trip on the Endurance. The exhibition is moving on to America at the end of December.
Head lice is back! Please keep checking their hair in the evenings. It helps to have long hair tied back. Please reiterate to your child not to rub heads, play hairdressers or swap hats/hairbands. Thank you to those of you who let me know you found lice.
They finally did it! Daisy and Lucy read all of the tricky words and managed to build the tower without knocking it over.

Our hurling coach, Tommy, suggested that the children make their own mini beanbags and practice with these when hurling. If you plan on making one, here is how:
Fill an old sock with popcorn seeds or dried beans. Tie a knot in the top! It couldn't be easier.! :)
They can be brought into school on Friday for PE.
