|Ms Mc Carthy's Class||
Happy Easter! We have been enjoying Arts' Week in school. We hope you managed to make it into the exhibition. There was some fantastic work on display around the school. The children told us about their favourite pieces in the different classrooms. Here is a quick peek at our classroom on Monday evening.
We were delighted to have the fantastic storyteller (AKA The World's Best Storyteller), Niall de Burca, in on Tuesday. He told us a few of the Irish legends about Fionn Mac Cumhaill and, literally, had the children rolling on the floor laughing!
We are learning about the life cycle of a plant. We used our focus story of "A Bad Case of Stripes" as our starting point for planting lima beans (butter beans, in Ireland.) We were sprouting them in clear bags on the window so that we can see the different stages very clearly. It has been exciting to see the roots pushing out and some of the stems began to grow. The beans have gone home with the children now and can be planted in soil.
On Thursday, we were treated to a fantastic talent show, put on by the students of first class. We saw some amazing talent, including dancing, baton twirling, singing, tin whistle and lots more! On Friday we had our own mini version in class. There was lots of dancing, singing and even some football skills!
I hope everyone has a fantastic break and I will see you back in school on Monday 24th of April. :)
