A short 3 day week for us but we squeezed lots in! We started this week with our new blending readers. The children were really excited about them and so proud of being able to work out all of the words.
Today, Ms Donoghue brought in her keyboard and she taught the class "5 Little Ducks." We had fun singing it for Ms Puirseil.
We had a focus on gardening this week. We learned the different parts of a plant and planted flowers, which we will be bringing home soon. Susan took a few small groups out planting flowers and spreading wood mulch out. Don't worry, everyone will get a go! :)
Continuing the gardening theme, one of the morning stations was the Garden Centre. The children played at shoveling soil, planting seeds and pretended to water the plants. Inevitably they made a huge mess but that was ok, they helped to clean it all up each day!
On our writing station, we practiced writing some garden centre words and some of their fantastic writing can be seen on the display board in the classroom.

We also used the playdough to make garden related pictures and played with the farm. In art we made insects. Here we are at work and play.
Rocai Rua had a great time visiting homes this week. He has found it really hard to behave himself this week. I can't believe all the things he has been doing. The children have really enjoyed sitting up on the big chair and telling the class what he did. He finally behaved himself in Caolan's house last night (but not this morning!)
I hope everyone has a lovely mid-term break and we will see you all again on Monday.
