We celebrated World Book Day on Thursday. We really enjoyed doing DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time. We were able to find lots of our sight words in the stories and we used the pictures to help us when we couldn't read the words. We picked our favourite book out at the end.
I love this website and you might recognise some of the resources available here, from morning activities. The children certainly will know some of them from literacy stations. There are some great games and activities you can download. Here is a set of CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) game boards. There are a few games in this bundle, and most focus on a different vowel sound in the middle.

Our maths stations this week were revising numbers up to 4 and also on pattern. We have been extending ourselves with pattern, using shapes and also repeating colours (blue, blue, red, blue, blue, red etc....tricky!)
Pancake Tuesday was the talking point of the week. I don't think the children spoke about anything else all day. We drew pictures of what we would like on our pancakes and Ms Donoghue and I wrote down what the children said they would like. We had some very, em, interesting pancakes! Lots of the children copied the words written down for them and did an amazing job of their letters. Their enthusiasm for writing is just fantastic.
We also sequenced pictures showing how to make pancakes. And we read a great book called "If You Give a Pig a Pancake" by Laura Numeroff, all about actions and consequences. Here is a link to a YouTube clip of the book being read out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8QdYQ_6wlI

A few extra shots of the week....
