We have been making the most of the summer days and enjoyed working out of doors. We have also been busy with our writing and you can see lots of examples of our work hanging inside the classroom and out on the windows.
We watered the plants in the garden and cleared away fallen leaves. We learned that old tyres can be recycled into many things and has been used in our garden as wood chippings replacement. The children couldn't figure out what it was made of until they smelled it.

The theme "Ag Siopadóireacht" has been a big hit over the last two weeks. Last week, we played shops during Gaeilge lessons and this week we played independently as one of morning activities.

We had lots of fun doing PE out in the yard. One day we set up stations, another day we did an obstacle course and on Friday we did a little scavenger hunt as part of our stations. We also ran on the track a few times.
We decorated part of the yard with chalk and attempted to do a group splatter painting but it was a bit windier than expected and we had to adjust our plans a bit.
We loved playing in the quad as one of our morning activity rotations. The children went hunting for fairies and played with the Happyland fairy gardens and also the lovely fairy garden Emma, her sister Beth and her mam, Siobhan, made for the school. We had loads of fun playing "The Three Little Pigs" with Polly, in the playhouse. For morning activities we also played "Spin Bump" using our sight words and we are doing really well on these new ones. In class, we have moved onto the next set (yellow) of tricky words, which we will be practicing at home soon.
Finally, here are our Rocai Rua friends over the last two weeks.
