Oh, the excitement!!! We are finally writing! :) On Tuesday we started our letters and you should have seen those faces. They were beaming with pride. Have a look....
We also wrote the number 2 this week. It is a very difficult one and can take time to get right. We also did a maths test reviewing term 1. Our final Jolly Phonics sound for Junior Infants was introduced, "sh." Now we will be doing lots of work blending those sounds together to read words.
The children really enjoyed reading and playing games on Starfall.com. We were blending sounds to read simple words. http://www.starfall.com/n/level-a/learn-to-read/load.htm
In art, we made 'magic' penguins, using paint and folding a page in half. We also had free painting for golden time on Friday.

Our display outside the door is from last week's art. We read the book "The Snowy Day" by Ezra Jack Keats and we painted the snow and made our own tracks in it.
We did stations in gymnastics. We balanced on the bench and the narrower beam, leaped from hoop to hoop, jumped on the mini trampoline and did pencil rolls on the mats. Have a look.
