If you go down to the woods today....you'd see how much fun we had with our teddy bears! Everyone was so excited to have their teddy in with them. In Gaeilge we moved around the room, meeting each others' teddies. We got great oral language work done, introducing and describing their teddies.
Our hands-on maths was all about measures. We discovered how many cubes tall our teddy was by making a tower the same length and counting the cubes. It was a little tricky with some of the bigger teddies as not everyone counts above 20 yet but the children did great teamwork and helped each other out.
We compared each teddy to Rocaí Rua, to see which teddy weighed more or less than him. We found out that Sebastian's teddy and Rocaí Rua weighed the same and that most teddies were heavier than Rocaí.
Since we were so obsessed with throwing our teddies around, all day long, we decided to just go with it and have a Teddy Launch. We threw our teddies to see which teddy travelled the furthest. On your marks, get set....
Here we are having our picnic. There were some hungry bears that were gobbling up our lunches. Luckily, Harry had a very tasty lunch packed up for his teddy in his own lunch box and he kindly shared it with some of the other bears. After lunch we played "Huggie Bears" before yard time. It's a favourite!
Happy Fathers' Day to all the Daddies and special people in our lives. We hope you have a lovely day on Sunday. The children were very excited to make you a card and shared such lovely things about their Daddies.
